1. Introduction
XB Live Interpreter (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is provided by Beijing Zaomeng Shidai Technology Co., Ltd. This policy covers the XB Live Interpreter website and versions of the App that link to it. A platform- or region-specific notice shown inside the App may provide additional details and applies together with this policy.
2. Information We Process
Live interpretation audio and voice features
When you start microphone, conversation, or permitted Mac system-audio interpretation, the App sends the source audio you chose to capture, its voice features, the language pair, random session parameters, and required protocol and network information over an encrypted WebSocket directly to services operated by Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. The Doubao Seed LiveInterpret 2.0 service returns source text, translated text, and target-language PCM audio.
Live interpretation requires the internet. XB Live Interpreter does not send that live audio through a first-party interpretation server. Source recording, returned text, timestamps, and successfully generated interpreted audio can be saved locally. Mac system-audio mode processes the audio source selected through Apple’s interface and does not save screen video.
Audio and text you choose
The App processes microphone audio you authorize, Mac system audio that you expressly select through Apple’s system interface, transcripts, translations, bookmarks, note titles, and recordings associated with your sessions.
Recordings, successfully generated interpreted audio, transcripts, translations, bookmarks, notes, settings, and related session data are generally stored in the App’s private storage on your device.
Temporary recovery data
To reduce data loss if a recording or transcription is interrupted, the App may temporarily store audio fragments, session state, transcript snapshots, bookmarks, and recovery metadata in private application storage or an App Group container. Recovery files are removed or aged out according to the App’s operational cleanup rules after a session is saved, abandoned, or no longer recoverable.
AI summaries
XB Live Interpreter sends information for an AI summary only after you explicitly choose the action. For the initial generation, every regeneration, and every online retry, you must authorize that individual request again. Opening or viewing the AI Summary tab does not send anything.
The request includes this note’s full transcript, source language, requested summary language, App version, platform, a random request ID, and network information such as IP address. It does not include the audio recording, note title, bookmarks, account identifiers, or advertising identifiers.
The request is sent first to XB Live Interpreter servers operated by Beijing Zaomeng Shidai Technology Co., Ltd., and then to Volcano Engine Ark, operated by Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd., using a Doubao model. It is processed only to generate the summary you requested and to provide the security and reliability necessary for that request.
Support and communications
If you contact us by email or through the 53KF customer-service page, we process the messages, attachments, contact information, and diagnostic details you choose to provide. The support page may also receive App version, build number, device model, operating-system version, language, screen characteristics, and a randomly generated support code.
Website and hosting data
The XB Live Interpreter website does not currently use advertising cookies or a third-party product-analytics script. Our hosting and security providers may automatically process standard request logs such as IP address, browser or device type, requested URL, response status, request time, and security signals to deliver and protect the website.
3. Permissions and Device Capabilities
The App requests a permission only when a related feature needs it. Depending on device and platform, this may include microphone access, background audio, Picture in Picture, screen-capture or system-audio authorization, iCloud access for allowance records, and permission for a Mac helper to show floating captions.
System-audio capture is used only for audio that another app and Apple’s system interface allow you to select. XB Live Interpreter does not use this capability to save the visual content of your screen. You can refuse or revoke a permission in system settings, but the related feature may stop working.
4. How We Use Information
We do not sell your personal information or use your audio, video, images, transcripts, or notes for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Provide live speech-to-speech interpretation, bilingual captions, interpreted audio, floating captions, conversation interpretation, playback, search, export, and record organization
- Save, recover, and protect recordings, transcripts, translations, bookmarks, and notes on your device
- Generate an AI summary when you explicitly request one
- Provide support, respond to feedback, and diagnose reported problems
- Maintain compatibility, security, performance, and service reliability
- Comply with law, protect users, and prevent misuse
5. Third-Party Services
Apple platform services
Apple provides App distribution, system permissions, StoreKit, iCloud and CloudKit, ScreenCaptureKit, Picture in Picture, and other operating-system capabilities. Apple processes information under its own policies and platform terms.
Doubao live interpretation, XB Live Interpreter AI gateway, and Volcano Engine Ark
For live interpretation, the App connects directly to services operated by Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. The provider processes source audio and voice features in the cloud to generate source text, translated text, and interpreted audio. Its published rules state that customer inputs and outputs are not used to train or improve foundation models unless the customer separately joins an applicable data-authorization program; necessary safety, legal, technical, and security processing may still apply under the service configuration and published rules.
Beijing Zaomeng Shidai Technology Co., Ltd. operates the first-party XB Live Interpreter gateway. The gateway validates the request, sends the transcript and request information to Volcano Engine Ark, receives the Doubao model response, and returns it to your App. The gateway does not persist transcript or summary bodies in its database, cache, object storage, or application logs.
Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. operates Volcano Engine Ark and processes the transcript, languages, prompt context, generated response, and necessary technical or security information under the applicable production configuration, agreements, published rules, and law. We do not use transcript or summary content for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and we do not authorize its use for model training or improvement unrelated to the summary you requested.
Except where required by law, we require Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. and Volcano Engine Ark to process shared data only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to provide the privacy and security protections required by the applicable service configuration, agreements, and law.
If the AI provider, processing region, purpose, or handling materially changes, we will update this policy and the in-App disclosure before the changed processing is used.
Support and hosting
Online customer service may be provided through 53KF, and the website may be hosted using Firebase Hosting or another production hosting service. These providers process information needed to provide their respective services.
6. Legal Bases and Consent
Depending on your location, we process information to perform our agreement with you, provide features you request, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service reliability, comply with legal obligations, or based on your consent. Where consent is required, you may decline or withdraw it through the App or system settings, subject to legal and technical limits.
7. Storage, Retention, and Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
- Local recordings, successfully generated interpreted audio, transcripts, translations, bookmarks, notes, and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear App data, or uninstall the App, subject to temporary recovery files and operating-system behavior.
- Interpretation allowance events and verified StoreKit transaction references may be stored locally and in your private CloudKit database to calculate trial, subscription-cycle, and top-up balances. That allowance database does not contain your recordings, transcripts, translations, images, bookmarks, or summaries.
- The first-party XB Live Interpreter gateway does not persist transcript or summary bodies. It may retain limited technical records such as random request ID, character count, languages, status, latency, model code, non-sensitive error code, and standard network or security logs for service operation and protection.
- Volcano Engine Ark processes summary requests under the applicable production configuration, agreements, published rules, and law. Limited technical, security, and compliance records may be processed or retained as permitted by those rules without being used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Support records may be kept while needed to respond to your request, maintain support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Website request and security logs are retained according to hosting and security configuration.
8. How We Share Information
We may share limited information with the service providers described above, vendors acting on our behalf under appropriate protections, when required by law or legal process, to protect users and the integrity of the App, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or transfer of assets.
We do not sell personal information.
9. Your Choices and Rights
To make a privacy request, contact support@miremire.com. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where required by law.
- Delete notes, transcripts, translations, bookmarks, and associated recordings inside the App
- Clear App data or uninstall the App
- Manage microphone, background-audio, system-audio, screen-capture, Picture in Picture, iCloud, and helper permissions in system settings
- Choose whether to request an AI summary
- Choose what to include when contacting support
- Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent where applicable law provides those rights
10. International Data Transfers
AI summary requests are sent to the XB Live Interpreter first-party server and Volcano Engine Ark as disclosed before you authorize each request. Website, support, and hosting providers may process limited information outside your country or region. Where applicable law requires it, we use an appropriate legal basis, notice, consent, or safeguard. You can avoid an AI-summary transfer by not authorizing the generation, regeneration, or online retry request.
11. Children’s Privacy
XB Live Interpreter is not directed to children under 14. A child who has not reached the age of independent consent under applicable law must use the App only with the authorization and supervision required from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when product features, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.
