1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using XB Live Interpreter (the “App”) or the website (together, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
This agreement is with Beijing Zaomeng Shidai Technology Co., Ltd. and does not limit mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
2. The Services
XB Live Interpreter provides connected speech-to-speech interpretation, source and translated captions, interpreted audio, permitted Mac system-audio interpretation, floating captions, saved-session playback, bookmarks, conversation interpretation, search, export, and user-requested AI summaries.
- Features, languages, formats, and capabilities vary by device, operating system, App version, region, source, and Apple system support.
- Some features require microphone, background-audio, screen-capture, system-audio, network, iCloud, Picture in Picture, or helper permissions.
- XB Live Interpreter processes permitted system audio and does not save screen video.
- DRM-protected, call-related, silent, unsupported, or unavailable audio may not be captured or processed.
3. Eligibility and Access
You must be legally able to accept these Terms. A minor must obtain the agreement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.
The App does not require a phone-number or password account managed by us. StoreKit purchases follow the Apple account used for Media & Purchases, while allowance sync follows the iCloud account. You are responsible for your device, Apple accounts, network connection, system settings, and activities performed through your copy of the App.
4. Your Content and Recording Responsibilities
You retain the rights you lawfully hold in audio, video, images, transcripts, translations, notes, bookmarks, and other materials you provide or create.
You are responsible for obtaining all permissions, notices, and consents required to record, capture, process, transcribe, translate, summarize, store, export, or share a lecture, conversation, meeting, interview, system-audio source, or third-party material.
XB Live Interpreter does not grant you rights in a teacher’s materials, an online course, a video, music, a presentation, or other third-party content. Use the Services only with material you own or are legally authorized to process.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Services to violate law, privacy, intellectual-property rights, confidentiality duties, or contracts; record without required notice or consent; distribute unlawful or harmful content; bypass DRM, system permission, or security controls; interfere with or automate abusive access to the Services; introduce malicious code; impersonate another person; or resell the Services without permission.
6. Automated Accuracy
Speech recognition, translation, interpreted audio, voice-feature rendering, speaker labels, segmentation, and AI summaries are automated and may contain errors, omissions, delays, repetition, unnatural audio, or misleading output. Results depend on language, accent, speech rate, audio quality, noise, device, source material, network availability, models, and service providers.
Review important names, numbers, formulas, technical terms, quotations, and conclusions. The Services do not replace professional medical, legal, financial, safety, accessibility, or interpretation services and must not be the sole basis for a high-risk decision.
Translated text, interpreted audio, and AI summaries are generated or synthesized content. Interpreted audio may resemble a speaker’s voice but does not mean that person spoke the translated words or endorsed them. Do not remove a legally required AI label, impersonate another person, commit fraud, or conceal the generated nature of content when disclosure is required.
7. Interpretation Minutes and Purchases
New users receive 10 live-interpretation minutes without an automatic charge. The auto-renewing Weekly Pass includes 500 minutes per week. Price, currency, renewal terms, and availability are shown by the App Store purchase sheet and may differ by region.
Each user-started live-interpretation session is rounded up to whole minutes based only on source PCM successfully sent to the provider. Unused weekly minutes do not carry over. A current-cycle 500-minute top-up may be offered only while the Weekly Pass is active and its balance is exhausted; the top-up does not extend the subscription and expires with that cycle.
Purchases and refunds are handled through Apple. Uninstalling the App or deleting local or CloudKit data does not automatically cancel a subscription. The separate Membership Agreement also applies to paid services.
8. License and Intellectual Property
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose under these Terms and applicable store rules.
The App software, design, brand, documentation, website, and non-user content are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.
9. Third-Party Services and Privacy
The Services interact with Apple platform services, app distribution, system permissions, selected content sources, AI gateway and model providers, online support, and website hosting. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies, and we do not control their availability or decisions.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Mandatory Apple or local legal terms prevail if they conflict with these Terms.
10. Changes, Availability, and Termination
We may update the Services or these Terms for product, security, operational, technical, legal, provider, or regional reasons. We will provide notice of material changes where reasonably possible or legally required.
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may limit or discontinue access when reasonably necessary because of serious violation, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, provider change, platform incompatibility, or inability to continue a feature.
11. Disclaimers and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee that they will always be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, compatible with every source, or permanently available.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, opportunities, or study outcomes. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected.
12. Governing Law and General Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, subject to mandatory consumer law in your place of residence. Please contact us first about a dispute. If it cannot be resolved, a competent court in Beijing may hear the matter unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any mandatory platform terms form the agreement regarding the Services. Translations are provided for convenience; where legally permitted, the Simplified Chinese version prevails in a conflict without limiting mandatory local rights.
